Celebrate Christmas Past
It was a very enjoyable day! The Grade one's participated in a scavenger hunt, hay ride, and making a craft. We were also served cookies and juice. Thank you for the great day Western Development Museum staff!

Writing Sentences
We practiced writing sentences. We talked about what a good sentence looked like then the Grade 1's wrote their own sentence. Grade 1's remember finger spaces, capital letters and periods.

6/7 Buddy Reading!
Today, the Grade 6/7 split came to read with the Grade One's! Mr. Budz read a book and the kids really enjoyed!

Stations
Grade One's participated in stations this morning. We also have been getting ready for report cards. Keep up the hard work Grade one!

Arranging ABC's
In the morning, each student had a bag of all 26 letters of the alphabet. We had to arrange the letters and put them in the correct order. Some bags were missing letters but now we have them all sorted out! Thank you Grade 1.

Cookies and Buddy Reading
Thank you Jayd for the delicious cookies! At the end of the day, the Grade one's picked buddies and read from their pink books. Grade one's were introduced to five new words of the week: up, down, run, it and what. They also learned the sign language for each word!

Remembrance Day Program
Each student received a poppy for the Remembrance Day program. The Grade one's enjoyed the program. They sat very nice and were respectful.

Making Words!
The Grade One's were making words using alphabet dice. In partners, they had to make words from the "ap" word family. Then we shared the words we made.

Starting Our Remembrance Day Crafts
For Remembrance Day, we sponge painted crosses to represent the soldiers who fought for our country. The Grade one's will finish their craft tomorrow with their buddies.

Literacy Coach Visits
Today, the literacy coach came into the classroom and introduced the concept of "visualization". Her lesson was very engaging and the students enjoyed it. Thank you Mrs. Robertson!
